UniHeat brand is the most widely used heat pack in pet shipping for next day deliveries.
Widely used in plant & animal shipping.
Heat packs are not guaranteed to keep animals alive in all temperatures. Please use good judgement when packing live animals for shipping.
We urge you to test every pack before shipping your products. You can follow these guidelines listed here for preparing your shipping warmers for use.
Open the UniHeat shipping warmer up and place in a towel or something like that for about two hours before using. Then take the pouch out of the towel and wrap loosely in paper. You can leave the sides open if you like. Then place in your box with the red stripe facing towards your product. It is usually better to add more crumpled packing paper around your shipping warmer and insulate it away from your product. For shipping live animals we recommend at least two holes in the box. Since these packs need oxygen to have the rusting process that takes place to generate the warmth a couple small air holes will allow this process to take effect.
Important to note that these are shipping warmers. They are not guaranteed to keep your product alive or from freezing. You need to do your own due diligence and test packs for your product. We are not liable for any loss due to the packs. We recommend packs be only used in Styrofoam lined boxes. Use of a Phase Change Material will be very beneficial in keeping your box a stable temperature.
As part of your due diligence you should always test each pack before putting in the box. The longer the hour rating the longer it will take for the pack to start getting warm. We recommend opening packs at least 2 hours before use. Do not open packs up and just lay on a counter. They must be wrapped in a towel for best results.
